Information we use
When you create an account, our authentication provider, Clerk, processes your name, email address, profile image if provided, sign-in identifiers, and information needed to verify and secure your account. Email and password sign-in is handled by Clerk; our application database does not store your password.
Our application database stores your account identifier, access role, and the date your application record was created. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
Our hosting and authentication providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, request logs, and security events to deliver and protect the service.
Signing in with Google
Google sign-in is optional. If you choose it, Google shares basic identity information, including your account identifier, name, email address, and profile image, with Clerk and this website to create or recognize your account. We request basic identity, email, and profile access. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendar.
We use Google account information only to provide and secure your account and its visible profile. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence models. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
You can review or revoke this connection in your Google Account connections. Revoking Google access does not itself delete your account here; contact us to request deletion.
How information is used
We use account information to sign you in, display your private account page, manage access, help with support requests, and protect the website against misuse. Creating an account does not add you to our public members page or subscribe you to a mailing list. The public directory currently contains illustrative profiles. Giving information is used to process gifts, display private payment history, manage recurring gifts, provide payment records, and investigate payment problems.
Service providers & sharing
We use Clerk for authentication, Vercel for website hosting, Neon for our application database, Cloudflare for domain and DNS services, and Stripe for checkout, payment processing, and the giving portal. Google is involved when you choose Google sign-in. These providers process information needed for their respective services. We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertising partners.
Information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, where our application database is hosted. We may also disclose information where legally required or necessary to address fraud, abuse, or a security incident, subject to applicable law and the Google data restrictions described above.
Giving & payment information
Stripe collects payment details and the contact information you provide during checkout. Our website does not receive or store your full card number or security code. Our database stores the gift amount, currency, selected fund, schedule, payment identifiers, dates, refund amounts, and your account identifier when you give while signed in. Stripe stores the payment and billing records needed to provide its services. Test giving uses Stripe’s sandbox and does not move real money.
Guest gifts are associated with the email entered at checkout in Stripe. We use an essential browser cookie to let you securely revisit a recent guest checkout. Guest gifts are not automatically attached to a website account based on matching email addresses. For abuse prevention, we keep short-lived, hashed request identifiers and counters. Payment records may need to be retained for accounting, dispute handling, and legal obligations even after an account deletion request.
Your choices & requests
You can review and update available profile details using your account controls. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Account information is kept while needed to provide your account and related support. On a deletion request, we will review and remove associated records from our authentication service and application database, except information that must be retained for legal or security reasons. Provider logs and backups may persist for their normal retention periods. Disconnecting Google or deleting an authentication profile may not automatically remove every associated application record; contact us so we can complete the review.
Updates to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If a change materially affects how account information is used, we will provide a prominent website notice or another appropriate notification before that new use begins.
